A TEENAGER has been charged over the ‘murder’ of a schoolboy who was allegedly stabbed to death on a Glasgow street.
Amen Teklay, 15, was found seriously hurt on Clarendon Street in Maryhill on Wednesday night.





Emergency crews were scrambled to the street and frantically tried to save his life.
But Amen tragically died at the scene.
A huge murder investigation was launched after his death.
Blue screens were set up to block off the street where Amen was found while detectives, forensics and specialist search teams were called in to scour the area.
A 14-year-old boy has since been charged over his death and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow.
A 15-year-old boy has also been arrested in connection with the death.
Cops say their investigation into Amen’s death is still ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Campbell Jackson said: “Our thoughts remain with Amen’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“I would also like to thank the community for their support so far. Our investigation continues and I would ask anyone, who may have information which could help us and who has not yet come forward, to please contact us.”
Superintendent Christopher Stewart said: “We are continuing to support Amen’s family and continue to engage with the local community affected by this incident.
“There will continue to be a visible policing presence in the area and I would urge anyone with questions or concerns to approach a local officer – they are there to help.”
Tributes were paid to Amen after the tragic incident which has rocked the north Glasgow community.
A friend of the Teklay family said: “It’s terrible. He was such a kind boy. He was always smiling.”
Local community groups also posted a message highlighting their fond memories of the tragic lad.



Kingsway Community Connections posted: “Amen, 15, was involved in our Youth Group and Film Group over the past year and was still receiving support from our staff until yesterday afternoon.
“He was funny, bright and enjoyed playing football, he loved pizza nights and taking part in a summer BBQ.
“Our memories of Amen are encapsulated in this film he made together with his friends where he talked about why attending the group was important to him.
“Amen developed great relationships with our team, and we are all devastated with his sudden death.
“We are providing support to Amen’s immediate family and our community as they come to terms with the loss of a Son, Friend and brother.
“KCC would also like to extend our thoughts to the other support agencies who we know were supporting Amen before his death and give thanks to the emergency services who tried desperately to save his life.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “A 14-year-old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Amen Teklay in Glasgow.
“Around 10.30pm on Wednesday, 5 March, 2025, officers were called to a report of a person being found seriously injured on Clarendon Street, Glasgow. Emergency services attended and Amen, 15, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The 14-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with the death. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 10 March, 2025.
“A 15-year-old male youth was arrested in connection with the death and enquiries are ongoing.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
“Amen’s relatives continue to be supported by specially trained officers.”
